Rinse the rice until the water runs mostly clear
Add rice to the crock pot
Add water or broth in the correct ratio
Add a pinch of salt if desired
Stir once to combine
Cover with the lid
Cook on high for about 1.5 to 2.5 hours
Check for doneness near the end of cooking
Add a little more liquid if the rice is still firm
Fluff the rice with a fork when done
Keep warm until serving
