Lay a thin, breathable swaddle blanket in a diamond shape
Fold the top corner down
Place baby on the blanket with shoulders just below the fold
Keep baby’s head and neck uncovered
Straighten baby’s right arm by the side
Pull the right side of the blanket across baby’s body and tuck it under the left side
Fold the bottom corner up over baby’s feet
Leave room for hips and legs to bend naturally
Straighten baby’s left arm by the side
Pull the left side of the blanket across baby’s body and tuck it under the right side
Make sure the swaddle is snug around the torso but not tight
Check that baby can breathe easily
Stop swaddling once baby shows signs of rolling over
Use a swaddle that allows safe hip movement
