Turn on the Roku device
Insert fresh batteries into the Roku remote
Open the battery compartment
Press and hold the pairing button inside the battery compartment for 3 to 5 seconds
Wait for the pairing light to start flashing
Keep the remote close to the Roku device
Wait for the Roku device to detect and sync the remote
Follow any on-screen pairing prompt if it appears
If the remote does not sync, remove the batteries
Unplug the Roku device from power for 10 seconds
Plug the Roku device back in
Reinsert the batteries
Press and hold the pairing button again
If using a simple infrared remote, point it directly at the Roku device and try again
