Open Instagram and go to the post, story, reel, or comment where you want to tag someone
Tap Tag People, Mention, or the text field depending on the content type
Type the person’s username with an @ symbol
Select the correct account from the suggested list
For posts, place the tag on the photo if prompted
For stories, use the Mention sticker or type @username in the text
For reels, add the @username in the caption or comments
For comments, type @username directly in the comment box
Tap Share, Post, or Done to save the tag
Make sure the account is public or allows mentions if the tag does not work
