Wash your hands
Check the Ozempic pen label and dose
Inspect the solution; do not use if cloudy, colored, or has particles
Attach a new needle
Remove the outer needle cap and inner needle cap
Prime the pen if required for a new pen or as directed
Dial the prescribed dose
Choose an injection site on the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm
Clean the skin with an alcohol swab and let it dry
Insert the needle into the skin
Press and hold the dose button until the dose counter returns to 0
Keep the needle in place for at least 6 seconds
Remove the needle from the skin
Replace the outer needle cap
Unscrew and discard the needle in a sharps container
Put the pen cap back on
Store the pen as directed
Take it once weekly on the same day, as prescribed
