Gather athletic tape, pre-wrap or underwrap, and scissors
Clean and dry your foot and ankle
Sit with your foot at a 90-degree angle
Apply pre-wrap if desired
Place anchor strips around the lower leg just above the ankle
Place anchor strips around the foot near the arch
Add a stirrup strip from the inside of the lower leg, under the heel, to the outside of the lower leg
Add a second stirrup strip overlapping the first
Add heel lock strips on both sides of the ankle
Add figure-eight strips around the foot and ankle
Add additional support strips if needed
Avoid wrapping too tightly
Check for numbness, tingling, or color changes in the toes
Re-tape if the tape loosens or causes discomfort
