Model sharing in your own behavior
Praise any small act of sharing immediately
Use simple, clear language like “It’s your turn, then my turn”
Practice taking turns with toys, games, and snacks
Set short timers for turns
Teach the words “mine,” “yours,” and “our turn”
Give your child choices when possible
Prepare your child before playdates or group time
Limit highly desired toys during shared play
Use duplicates of favorite toys when possible
Reinforce waiting patiently
