Wash and dry your hands
Insert a test strip into the glucose meter
Use a lancet to prick the side of your fingertip
Gently squeeze to get a small drop of blood
Touch the blood drop to the test strip
Wait for the meter to display your blood sugar reading
Record the result if needed
Dispose of the lancet and strip safely
