Thread the line through the hook eye from the front
Leave a long tag end below the hook
Tie a Palomar knot with the hook positioned to face upward
Before tightening, pass the tag end back through the hook eye from the top
Pull the knot tight
Attach the drop shot weight to the tag end
Adjust the distance between the hook and weight as needed
Trim any excess line if desired
