Wash your hands before handling the nebulizer
Assemble the nebulizer parts according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Measure the prescribed medicine and place it in the medicine cup
Attach the mouthpiece or mask securely
Connect the tubing to the compressor and medicine cup
Sit upright in a comfortable position
Turn on the compressor
Place the mouthpiece between your teeth and seal your lips around it, or fit the mask snugly over your nose and mouth
Breathe in slowly and deeply through your mouth
Hold each breath for a few seconds if possible
Continue breathing normally until the mist stops
Tap the medicine cup gently if needed to help use the remaining medicine
Turn off the compressor when finished
Disassemble the nebulizer parts
Wash the parts that need cleaning with warm water and mild soap
Rinse and air-dry the parts completely
Store the nebulizer in a clean, dry place
Follow your prescribed dosing schedule exactly
Replace worn or damaged parts as directed
Clean and disinfect the nebulizer as recommended by the manufacturer
