Score the wallpaper with a scoring tool or putty knife
Apply wallpaper remover solution to the seams and allow it to soak per product directions
Scrape loosened paper and adhesive with a wide putty knife
Reapply remover to stubborn areas and scrape again
For heavy buildup, steam the wallpaper seams and scrape while warm
For latex-based adhesive, wipe with warm water and a small amount of dish soap after scraping
For oil-based adhesive, use a commercial adhesive remover and follow label directions
Rinse the wall with clean water and let it dry completely
Sand any remaining residue lightly with fine-grit sandpaper
Wipe dust off with a damp cloth and let dry
Prime the wall with a bonding primer before painting or applying new wallpaper
