Insert the piping tip into the bag, if using one
Trim the bag tip if needed to fit the piping tip
Fold the top of the bag outward to create a cuff
Hold the bag open and fill it with frosting, cream, or batter
Do not overfill the bag
Unfold the cuff and twist the top closed
Hold the bag with one hand at the top and guide the tip with the other hand
Apply steady pressure to push the filling toward the tip
Keep the tip close to the surface for control
Move the bag smoothly while piping
Release pressure before lifting the tip away
Refill the bag as needed
Clean the bag and tip after use
