How to Use TENS Unit?

Read the device manual before use

Check with a healthcare professional if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have a pacemaker or implanted device

Clean and dry the skin where the pads will be placed

Place the electrodes on intact skin near the painful area, not on broken or irritated skin

Attach the lead wires to the pads and connect them to the unit

Turn the intensity to the lowest setting before starting

Turn the unit on and slowly increase the intensity until you feel a strong but comfortable tingling

Adjust the mode, pulse rate, and width if your device allows it

Use the unit for the recommended session time only

Stop use if you feel pain, dizziness, skin irritation, or discomfort

Turn the unit off before removing the pads

Remove the pads gently and store them on the backing sheet

Clean the skin after use if needed

Replace pads when they no longer stick well

Do not place pads on the head, throat, chest, or over the heart

Do not use while driving, bathing, or sleeping

Keep the device and pads away from water and heat

Follow the prescribed frequency of use if instructed by a clinician
