Check the care label before washing
Turn the sweater inside out
Fill a basin with cool or lukewarm water
Add a small amount of mild detergent made for wool or delicates
Submerge the sweater and gently swish it
Soak for 5 to 10 minutes
Gently press the water through the fabric
Do not rub, twist, or wring the sweater
Drain the basin and refill with clean cool water
Rinse until all detergent is removed
Press out excess water gently
Lay the sweater flat on a clean towel
Roll the towel and sweater together to remove more water
Reshape the sweater while damp
Dry flat on a clean, dry surface away from heat and sunlight
Store folded, not hung
Use a sweater comb or fabric shaver only if needed for pills
