How to Wipe SSD?

Back up any data you want to keep

Check whether the SSD is the system drive or a secondary drive

Use the manufacturer’s secure erase tool if available

Use BIOS, UEFI, or the drive utility to run Secure Erase or Sanitize

If using Windows, use DiskPart to clean the drive

If using Linux, use hdparm or nvme-cli secure erase or format commands

If using macOS, use Disk Utility erase options if supported

Remove all partitions and format the SSD after wiping if you plan to reuse it

Verify the wipe by checking that the drive shows as unallocated or empty

Reinstall the operating system if the SSD was the boot drive

Physically destroy the SSD only if it must never be recovered
