Preheat the oven to 400°F
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil
Wash the spaghetti squash
Cut the squash in half lengthwise
Scoop out the seeds and stringy center
Brush or rub the cut sides with oil
Sprinkle with salt if desired
Place the halves cut-side down on the baking sheet
Poke a few holes in the skin with a fork if needed
Bake for 35 to 50 minutes, until tender
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly
Scrape the flesh with a fork to form strands
