Keep the area clean and dry
Let the blister heal on its own
Do not pop, peel, or rub the blister
Use a clean, soft cloth to gently wipe the lips if needed
Apply a small amount of plain petroleum jelly if the skin is dry or cracked
Check that the baby’s latch during feeding is correct
Limit friction from pacifiers, bottles, or rough nipples if possible
Offer feeds in a calm, comfortable position
Monitor for signs of infection such as redness, swelling, warmth, pus, or fever
Contact a pediatrician if the blister is large, bleeding, painful, or not improving
Seek medical advice if the baby has trouble feeding or seems unwell
