Locate the tie-down strap or rope release point
Remove tension from the tie-down by loosening it first
Unhook the strap from the anchor point
Release the buckle, cam, ratchet, or knot
Pull the strap free from the load
Coil the strap or rope neatly
Store the tie-down in a dry place
