If the phone is a postpaid device, ensure it meets T-Mobile’s unlock eligibility requirements
If the phone is a prepaid device, ensure it meets T-Mobile’s prepaid unlock requirements
Open the T-Mobile app or log in to your T-Mobile account
Request the device unlock through T-Mobile support or the unlock request page
Follow any on-screen instructions or prompts
Restart the phone after the unlock is approved
Insert a SIM card from another carrier to confirm it is unlocked
If the phone does not unlock automatically, contact T-Mobile customer support
If you are active military and deploying, request an early unlock through T-Mobile support
