Let the engine cool completely
Park on a level surface and set the parking brake
Open the hood and locate the coolant reservoir and radiator cap
Place a drain pan under the radiator drain plug or lower hose
Open the drain plug or remove the lower radiator hose to drain the old antifreeze
Drain the coolant reservoir if needed
Close the drain plug or reconnect the hose
Flush the system with distilled water if required
Refill with the correct antifreeze and distilled water mixture
Fill the radiator first, then the coolant reservoir to the proper level
Start the engine with the heater on and let it reach operating temperature
Check for leaks and top off the coolant as needed
Replace the radiator cap securely
Dispose of old antifreeze properly at a recycling or hazardous waste facility
