Turn off and unplug the washing machine
Remove any clothing or items from the drum
Clean the detergent dispenser and softener tray
Wipe the lid, rim, and exterior with a damp cloth
Fill the tub with hot water
Add washing machine cleaner or white vinegar
Run a normal wash cycle
Pause the cycle and let the solution soak for 30 to 60 minutes
Resume and complete the cycle
Run an extra rinse cycle
Scrub the agitator, drum, and corners with a soft brush or cloth
Clean the lint filter if your machine has one
Wipe away any residue from the tub and lid
Leave the lid open to air dry
Repeat monthly or as needed
