Fold a square sheet of paper in half
Fold it in half again to make a smaller square
Open the paper and fold the top two corners to the center line
Fold the bottom edge up to meet the center
Fold the paper in half along the center line
Fold the top layer outward to form one wing
Fold the other top layer outward to form the second wing
Shape the wings by gently bending them
Press the center firmly to hold the butterfly shape
Trim the edges if needed to make the wings even
