Wash the spaghetti squash
Pierce the squash several times with a fork
Cut the squash in half lengthwise
Scoop out the seeds
Place the halves cut-side down in a microwave-safe dish
Add a small amount of water to the dish
Cover the dish with a microwave-safe lid or plastic wrap with a vent
Microwave on high for 8 to 12 minutes, depending on size
Check for tenderness with a fork
Microwave in 1 to 2 minute intervals if needed
Let the squash cool for a few minutes
Scrape the flesh with a fork to form strands
Season and serve
