Check your inbox for new messages
Tap any conversation to read messages
Pull down to refresh if messages are not showing
Make sure you are logged into the correct account
Check your internet connection
Update the Instagram app if needed
Enable message notifications in your phone settings
Check message requests and hidden requests folders
