Clean the chairs with soap and water
Remove rust, dirt, and loose paint with sandpaper or a wire brush
Wipe the chairs dry and remove dust
Apply a metal primer
Let the primer dry completely
Apply thin, even coats of metal paint
Let each coat dry before adding the next
Add a clear protective topcoat if desired
Let the chairs cure fully before use
