Identify the teams listed on the scoreboard
Find the inning columns across the top
Read each team’s runs by inning from left to right
Check the total runs column for each team
Look at hits and errors if they are shown
Read the current inning and whether it is the top or bottom
Note which team is batting and which team is fielding
Check balls, strikes, and outs if the scoreboard includes them
Look for the count of runners on base if displayed
Read the pitch count or pitcher information if shown
Compare the total runs to determine the current leader
Check whether the game is final, in progress, or postponed
