How to Store Breast Milk in Fridge?

Wash hands before handling breast milk

Use clean, food-grade containers or breast milk storage bags

Label each container with the date and time of pumping

Store milk in small portions to reduce waste

Place milk in the back of the fridge, not in the door

Keep refrigerator temperature at 4°C (40°F) or below

Use the oldest milk first

Refrigerate freshly pumped milk as soon as possible

Do not mix warm freshly pumped milk with already chilled milk

Keep containers tightly sealed

Use refrigerated breast milk within 4 days when possible

Thaw or warm milk only when ready to use

Do not refreeze thawed breast milk

Discard any milk left over after a feeding if the baby has drunk from the bottle
