Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper
Place salmon fillets skin-side down on the baking sheet
Pat salmon dry with paper towels
Season with salt and black pepper
Add olive oil or melted butter
Add flavor options: garlic, lemon slices, dill, parsley, paprika, or chili flakes
Bake 10–14 minutes for 1-inch-thick fillets, until it flakes easily and reaches 125–130°F (52–54°C) in the thickest part for medium
For crispier tops, broil 1–2 minutes at the end (watch closely)
Rest 2 minutes before serving
Optional: Brush with honey-mustard or a glaze during the last 5 minutes
