Choose fabric and wash, dry, and press it
Measure the pillow and cut two fabric pieces to size
Add seam allowance to all sides
Place the fabric pieces right sides together
Pin the edges in place
Sew around three sides with a straight stitch
If needed, sew a hem or decorative cuff on the open edge first
Finish raw edges with a zigzag stitch or serger
Turn the pillowcase right side out
Press the seams flat
Insert the pillow
Close the open end if desired with a topstitch or envelope fold
