Gather your needle, thread, scissors, pins, and fabric chalk
Turn the garment inside out
Fold the raw edge up to the desired hem length
Press the fold flat with an iron
Pin the hem in place
Thread the needle and knot the end
Start sewing from the inside of the garment
Use small, even stitches along the folded edge
Keep the stitches close to the fold
Continue around the hem until complete
Tie off the thread securely
Trim any excess thread
Press the hem again when finished
