Cut the material to size
Add batting or interfacing if needed
Fold and press the edges
Sew, glue, or hem the edges
Decorate with paint, embroidery, appliqué, or trim
Let any adhesive or paint dry completely
Clean and inspect the finished placemats
Store flat or roll gently when not in use
