Cut a square of fabric
Fold the square diagonally to find the bias grain
Press the fold lightly if needed
Mark parallel lines at the desired strip width across the bias
Cut along the marked lines
Join strip ends with diagonal seams if a longer strip is needed
Press seams open
Fold the strip in half lengthwise, wrong sides together
Press the fold
Fold each raw edge toward the center fold if making double-fold bias tape
Press again
Use the bias strip as needed
