Complete the Florida title transfer on the back of the current title or on the appropriate title transfer form
Fill in the buyer’s and seller’s full legal names and addresses
Enter the vehicle identification number, odometer reading, sale date, and purchase price
Have the seller sign the title exactly as required
Have the buyer sign if required
Complete a bill of sale if needed
Provide proof of Florida insurance if registering the vehicle in Florida
Bring a valid Florida driver license or ID
Submit the signed title to a Florida county tax collector’s office or license plate agency
Pay the title transfer fee and any applicable registration, lien, or sales tax fees
Remove the license plate from the vehicle before transfer
Apply for a new title and registration in the buyer’s name
If there is a lien, have the lienholder complete the lien release or title assignment process
If the vehicle is from out of state, provide the out-of-state title and any required VIN verification
If the title is lost, request a duplicate title before transfer
Keep copies of all signed documents for your records
