How to Use Nasal Spray for Clogged Ears?

Use a saline nasal spray, not a medicated decongestant spray, unless a doctor told you otherwise

Blow your nose gently before using the spray

Tilt your head slightly forward

Insert the nozzle into one nostril

Aim the spray slightly outward, away from the center of your nose

Press the spray while breathing in gently through your nose

Repeat in the other nostril if needed

Stay upright for a few minutes after using it

Swallow, yawn, or chew gum to help open the Eustachian tubes

Use only as directed on the label or by your doctor

Do not use decongestant nasal sprays for more than 3 days unless instructed by a doctor

Stop using it and seek medical care if you have severe pain, fever, drainage, hearing loss, or symptoms that last more than a few days
