Scrape off food residue with a metal spatula or scraper
Wipe away loose debris with paper towels
Pour a small amount of water onto the warm griddle surface
Scrape again to lift stuck-on bits
Wipe the surface clean with paper towels or a cloth
Repeat with water if needed until the surface is clean
Dry the griddle completely
Apply a thin layer of cooking oil
Spread the oil evenly across the surface with a paper towel
Clean the grease trap and empty it
Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth
Cover the Blackstone after it cools completely
