Open Finder
Go to the location where you want the new folder
Click File in the top menu bar
Select New Folder
Or press Shift + Command + N
Type a name for the folder
Press Return
Or right-click in the location and choose New Folder
Or use the keyboard shortcut after selecting the desktop or a Finder window
