Drink small sips of water, oral rehydration solution, or clear fluids often
Rest as much as possible
Eat bland foods if tolerated, such as toast, rice, bananas, applesauce, or crackers
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, dairy, greasy foods, and spicy foods
Wash hands frequently to prevent spreading infection
Use acetaminophen for fever or aches if needed and safe for you
Avoid anti-diarrheal medicines unless a doctor says they are okay
Seek medical care if you cannot keep fluids down, have signs of dehydration, severe pain, blood in vomit or stool, high fever, or symptoms lasting more than a few days
