Take prednisone exactly as prescribed by your doctor
Take it with food or milk to help reduce stomach upset
Take it at the same time each day
If prescribed once daily, take it in the morning unless told otherwise
Swallow tablets or capsules whole with water
Do not crush, chew, or split unless your pharmacist or doctor says it is safe
Follow the prescribed dose and do not take more than directed
If you miss a dose, take it when you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose
Do not double up doses unless your doctor tells you to
Do not stop taking prednisone suddenly unless your doctor instructs you to
If you have been taking it for more than a few days, ask your doctor before stopping
Store it at room temperature away from moisture and heat
Keep it out of reach of children
Contact your doctor if you have severe side effects or signs of infection
