Remove old caulk with a utility knife or caulk remover
Scrape away remaining residue
Clean the joint with soap and water
Rinse and dry the area completely
Wipe the surface with rubbing alcohol
Let the tub and wall joint dry fully
Apply painter’s tape along both sides of the seam if desired
Cut the caulk tube tip at a 45-degree angle
Puncture the inner seal of the tube
Load the tube into a caulk gun
Apply steady pressure and run a continuous bead along the seam
Keep the bead even and consistent
Smooth the caulk with a wet finger or caulk tool
Remove painter’s tape before the caulk skins over
Wipe away excess caulk immediately
Let the caulk cure for the recommended time before using the tub
