Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs mostly clear
Add the rice to the slow cooker
Add water or broth in the correct ratio for the rice type
Add a pinch of salt if desired
Stir once to combine
Cover with the lid
Cook on low until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed
Check the rice near the end of the cooking time to avoid overcooking
Fluff the rice with a fork
Let it sit covered for a few minutes before serving
