Gather: square paper (any size), scissors, pencil (optional), ruler (optional)
Fold the paper in half diagonally to make a triangle
Fold the triangle in half again (bring one corner to the other) to make a smaller triangle
Fold the smaller triangle again if you want more layers
Place the folded triangle so the folded edge is at the top and the open edges are at the bottom
Draw simple cut lines on the folded shape (optional), leaving a small margin near the folded edge
Cut along the drawn lines with scissors, removing small strips and shapes
Make sure not to cut through the folded edge
Unfold the paper carefully
Trim any loose or uneven edges if needed
Repeat with additional paper squares for more snowflakes
