Gather supplies: paper (printer paper or A4/letter), scissors (optional), tape or glue (optional)
Use standard paper for best results
Create a simple paper airplane (classic)
Fold the paper in half lengthwise, then unfold
Fold the top corners down toward the center crease
Fold the new top edges down again to form a pointed nose
Fold the paper in half along the center crease so the nose points forward
Fold down the wings so the edges align with the bottom edge
Create the wing crease by pressing firmly along the fold
Make a small upward bend near the back of each wing for stability
Optional: Trim the back wing edges for a cleaner shape
Optional: Add a small strip of tape at the wing fold to keep it rigid
Test-launch gently at a slight upward angle
Adjust by bending the wingtips up or down to change glide and turn
Make a faster paper dart (optional)
Fold the paper in half lengthwise, then unfold
Fold the top corners down to meet the center crease
Fold the top flap down to create a long narrow nose
Fold the plane in half lengthwise
Fold wings down so they sit flat along the bottom edge
Optional: Make small downward bends near the wing tips for speed
Optional: Trim the nose slightly for sharper flight
Make a wider glider (optional)
Use a slightly wider sheet if available
Fold top corners toward the center crease
Fold the top flap down to form a broad nose
Fold wings down with a larger surface area than the classic model
Keep wing angles shallow for longer glide
Optional: Add small upward bends at the trailing edges to reduce dropping
