Use a trimmer or clipper with an edging attachment
Mark the edge line along the sidewalk/driveway with a string or spray paint
Set the blade depth shallow and test on a small section first
Hold the tool so the cutting edge follows the marked line
Move slowly and keep a consistent distance from the edge
Use short passes to prevent scalping and uneven cuts
Overlap passes slightly for a clean, continuous edge
Avoid cutting into the pavement/curb—keep the blade just inside the grass
Clean up loose clippings with a rake or blower
Touch up corners and tight areas with a hand edger or smaller attachment
Re-check the edge line and make a final light pass for straightness
Maintain spacing and blade sharpness for cleaner results
