How To Install A Dishwasher?

Confirm the dishwasher fits the cabinet space and door clearance

Turn off power at the breaker for the dishwasher circuit

Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher line

Shut off the hot water source under the sink (or at the main if needed)

Prepare the installation area by removing the old dishwasher (if replacing)

Verify water supply type (hot water recommended) and locate the shutoff valve

Check for a dedicated dishwasher drain connection under the sink

Gather parts and tools: dishwasher installation kit, mounting brackets, wire nuts/connectors, Teflon tape or sealant (as required), hose clamps, screwdriver, drill/driver, level, tape measure

Inspect the dishwasher leveling feet and adjust them to the middle position

Connect the water supply line to the dishwasher inlet using the correct fitting and tighten securely

Install the drain hose connection to the sink drain/dishwasher drain outlet as required by your plumbing setup

Connect the electrical wiring per the dishwasher instructions (hardwire or plug-in)

If hardwiring: connect black to hot, white to neutral, green/bare to ground using approved connectors

Ensure the electrical connection is secured and the junction cover is installed

Route hoses and wiring so they have slack and do not kink, pinch, or rub against sharp edges

Place the dishwasher in position and align it with the cabinet opening

Level the dishwasher front-to-back and side-to-side using the provided leveling feet

Verify the door opens and closes smoothly without binding

Secure the dishwasher to the countertop/cabinet using the mounting brackets per the manual

Attach sound/insulation components if included

Ensure the air gap (if present) and/or high loop for the drain hose is installed correctly

Turn on the water supply valve

Restore power at the breaker

Run a short test cycle (or quick cycle) and check for leaks at the water connection and drain connection

Confirm proper drainage by observing the drain cycle and checking for standing water

Recheck level and tighten mounting hardware if adjustments are needed

Install toe-kick/access panels and any trim panels

Clean up and verify the dishwasher operates normally through a full cycle
