Drink a large glass of cold water quickly

Breathe into a paper bag for 10–20 seconds
Pull your knees to your chest and hold for 30 seconds
Stimulate the throat: gently stick out your tongue and swallow, or lightly press on the soft part of the roof of your mouth
Eat a small amount of dry bread or crackers slowly
Avoid triggers: stop eating quickly, carbonated drinks, and alcohol temporarily
