Use an over-the-counter salicylic acid wart remover as directed
Soak the foot in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes before treatment
Gently file the dead skin with a pumice stone or emery board after soaking
Apply the salicylic acid only to the wart
Cover the wart with a bandage or duct tape after applying treatment
Repeat daily until the wart is gone
Keep the area clean and dry between treatments
Do not pick, cut, or shave the wart
Use separate nail tools and pumice stones for the wart area
See a doctor if the wart is painful, bleeding, spreading, or not improving
See a doctor before treatment if you have diabetes, poor circulation, or a weakened immune system
Ask a doctor about freezing, cantharidin, prescription treatments, or removal if home treatment fails
