Wash the pan with hot water and a small amount of mild soap
Dry the pan completely
Heat the pan on the stove over low heat until all moisture evaporates
Apply a very thin layer of high-smoke-point oil to the entire surface
Wipe off all excess oil with a clean paper towel
Place the pan upside down in a preheated oven at 450–500°F
Put a baking sheet or foil on the lower rack to catch drips
Bake for 1 hour
Turn off the oven and let the pan cool inside
Repeat the oiling and baking process 2 to 4 times
Use the pan regularly and dry it after each wash
Apply a light coat of oil after cleaning to maintain the seasoning
