Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan
Add cold water until the eggs are covered by about 1 inch
Bring the water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat
Once boiling, turn off the heat and cover the pan
Let the eggs sit in the hot water for 10 to 12 minutes
Drain the hot water
Transfer the eggs to an ice bath or run them under cold water until fully cooled
Peel the eggs after they are completely cool
Slice and use for deviled eggs
