Gather raw wax material such as paraffin, soy wax flakes, beeswax, or palm wax
Melt the wax in a double boiler or wax melter
Heat slowly until fully liquefied
Add fragrance oil if desired
Add candle dye if desired
Stir gently until evenly mixed
Pour the melted wax into molds or containers
Insert and center the wick
Let the wax cool and harden completely
Trim the wick before use
