Gather soy wax or paraffin wax, a candle wick, a heat-safe container, a double boiler, a thermometer, fragrance oil, and a wick holder or pencil
Secure the wick in the center of the container
Melt the wax in a double boiler until fully liquid
Remove the wax from heat and let it cool slightly
Add fragrance oil at the recommended ratio, usually 6 to 10 percent of the wax weight
Stir gently and thoroughly to blend the fragrance
Pour the wax into the container slowly
Keep the wick centered while the wax sets
Let the candle cool and harden completely
Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before lighting
Cure the candle for the recommended time before use
Use candle-safe fragrance oils only
Keep the wax and fragrance amounts consistent for repeat results
Test burn the candle to check scent throw and wick performance
